Bungalow Restaurant and Lounge is located at 166 Stonleigh Ave, Croton Falls, NY 10519. Taking its name and inspiration from the Arts and Crafts Movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Bungalow has at its core, the romantic idealism of the craftsman taking tremendous pride in their handiwork and creation. This unifying ideology is evident from the moment you approach the small, free standing house, which has been the erstwhile home of nostalgic eateries: the Dew Drop Inn, Peter’s Plum and, most recently, Stoneleigh Creek Restaurant.
While primarily “American,” the menu freely alludes to European, Mediterranean, Asian and Latin influences which Reynolds has encountered in his 20 plus years in the kitchen. Coming from California, Reynolds uses a good measure of “seasonally fresh” and “sustainable agriculture” based ingredients. Bungalow aspires to be an familiar dining experience which offers great and affordable food, wine and service which you can enjoy on a regular basis: a “neighborhood spot,” easy on the eyes, palate and wallet. Maxime was classic French Cuisine and Vox follows that same tradition but with some surprising twists: Roast Duckling served on a bed of Forbidden Rice, Seared Hudson Valley Foies Gras with a shallot tarte tatin and apple cider vinegar reduction, spectacular New York Strip Steak with roasted Portobello mushrooms, haricots vert, mashed potatoes and a roasted garlic bordelaise sauce or two tiny Hamburgers with frittes. The choices and the results at VOX are both dramatic and satisfying. Press "Blue Button" for VOX website, reviews, and menu.
